 "Hot Chocolate!"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Alright, the real reason for creating a playable old-style VU Meter falls upon my favorite group.

This is a mind-bender signing "Everyone's A Winner," which was ideal for a "PICK ME UP" when you're feeling down and you feel left in a bad funk!

The VU Meter is ready and waiting to show off its stuff, so don't disappoint to see it in action!

"The Chicago Band"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Alright, the real reason for creating a playable old-style VU meter falls upon my favorite group.

It's been a longtime since I been back to my old neighborhood out in Chicago.

And yet today, I don't miss it much anymore, you see Chicago drastically changed-which is 100% thanks to all of the chaos that unfolded within this great city.

Then, hearing "The Chicago Band," for the first time competely blow my mind wide-open years ago!

So, this was why I wanted to create something great to try and match the good times that once existed in "Chi-Town" (or Chicago's nickname).

Yeah, once the 1970s was over and done with in Chicago, it was then and there, that dazzingly song by Paper Lace came into focus...

"The Night Chicago Died!"

"Paper Lace"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Well, yeah...

This of course is the next soundtrack performed by Papaer Lace, that would be conveniently placed in this line-up.

"The Night Chicago Died," was a popular sound track that reminisced about the events of the 1920s (in terms of bleak storytelling).

Where Mob Boss Al Capone was running the in's and out's affairs within the famed Windy City.

He ran a slew of illegal operations all Chicago-based, and also had a lucrative Maritime operation smuggling in tons of illegal liquor waiting to be sold from within his Chicago lounge clubs!

Well, that was until that infamous "St. Valentine Day Massacre" took place  in 1929 led to public outrage, and it served as the turning point that led to the Mob Boss later imprisonment "via" tax evasion charges.

"Erotic City"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Well, I wanted a functional "Weston-like" VU meter for this futuristic song-YOU CAN BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR!

Prince was always pushing ideas, and pressing forward through the music industry using very futuristic types of "off the wall" tunes...

His electric guitar and piano slick trick music tracks can even rattle the invisible coursing waves of targeted Wi-Fi transmissions of today and beyond!

Nevertheless, this is a staging and testing site I threw together to show the HTML, CSS & JavaScript attribute results.

So, I will be using this site to test out a vareity of online coding elements.

"Lady Madonna"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Surely John Lennon's musical hit "Lady Madonna," will give my VU meter quite a run for its money! LOL.

And that's what drove me to create it, I would see countless stereo sets when I was a kid, and I would stare at those meters-they were simply mesmerizing!

Plus, I always wanted to measure the audible activity taking place within these awesome tracks.

Luckily, I figured out the key code attribute to bring everything together in real time!

"Heatwave"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
I really wanted to see the VU meter fluxations taking place listening to this old school soundtrack relic!

Admittingly, it took quite a few "Mind-Blowing Decisions," when tidying up the necessary HTML, CSS, and JavaScript parameters that led to a robust VU meter!

"The Guess Who"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Basically, they are a wild bunch in their group from wayback when.

The type of music they shared was pretty much "IN YOUR FACE" psychedelic rock!

This particular track they're famed for, was all about "NOT TAKING HAND ME DOWN CLOTHES & SHOES, BECAUSE THEY GOT SOME ALREADY!"

One could only imagine how erratic my VU meter will have to be when flicking back and forth like it's goin' outta style!

Which is all the more reason to put to the test, and see how it all plays out!

"The Kinks" #1

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Who exactly was this "Lola" anyway?

From what they say, she's kinda buff in the upper-arm region of her body.

Why, they even said she nearly sqeezed some guy so hard that she almost cracked his back!?

Ok, wait now...

She wouldn't just so happen to be related to "Popeye The Sailor," would she?

Well, I think not!

Nevertheless, this is gonna be tough for the VU meter to wrestle down this mystery caper for the WWE three-count pin that's for sure!

"The Kinks" #2

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Now, where can you start was this pop-rock group.

Their music tracks are great indeed, and their musical titles usually throw hints to listeners about the madness and crazy times (Zeitgeist) we today continually experience as time marches along...

They also dabble within the genre of psychedelic rock, as their pivotal musical tunes will captivate your attention whole-heartedly.

Here, the song presented is called "Livin' on a Thin Line," which is seemingly apparent judging from the way things is going in the world today...

It's also an ideal song to to test out the VU meter with stellar curiosity.

"Steve Miller Band"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
I mean, who don't know the song these guys are well known for.

And it always kicked up the adrenline levels within me, striving harder when setting out to accomplish a major task or feat.

"Fly like an Eagle..."

Well no doubt there, because you felt that way after hearing the infamous soundtrack.

In this case...

It's returning back here when I created a working tuned-up and ready to go VU needle gauge!

WHICH I FINALLY DID!

Hold on to your seats because there's more to come!

"KRS-ONE"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Probably one of the most controversial hip-hop wrappers to ever walk the face of the moon (and no doubt here back on earth as well! LOL).

KRS pushed more suttle, arguably mindful type of wrap.

He would often involke a good dosage of knowledge, about the hardships of life: and there's no doubt many individuals are now witnessing the harshness of today's society which stands as a testament of truth-when in retrospect, it doesn't have to remain that way if those involved are willing to change for the better!

Tensions were always at a high when such a phrase "That's Da Sound of the Police," was enter in a conversation.

What can one say, the 1990s was a different kinda of breast back then!

"Mumbo #6 (MAD TV | Bill Clinton feat)"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
MAD-TV was just insane.

And what made it even more "Loony-Tunier," is when Will Sasso would dress up as a Bill Clinton look-alike, as he attempted to swagger, sway and unfortuately sing all while appearing on a televised public stage!

Yeah, not quite the envisioned thought to embrace to say the least... LOL.

From there, he would engage in what would seem to be an 1950-ish, style of dancing.

Meanwhile, back here I managed to create a working tuned-up, ready to go VU needle gauge!

WHICH I FINALLY DID!

Hold on to your seats because there's more to come...

"One Night In Bangkok"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Yeah, there's no doubt one night in Bangkok could turn out to be the wildest stay for any venturing traveler!

In fact, this spiffy track, mixed with revolutionary Middle Eastern and Southwestern Asia style of music will capture the listerner's attention from start to finish!

This will be a true testamant of truth, to witness my VU meter's maneuverability to follow along in its quest to measure such elegant sounds of the day; way back then!

"The Blues Brothers"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Yeah, Joliet Jake & Elwood Blues pretty much became Chicago icons right at the start of the 1980s era.

These two were just outright clowns LOL, as they were on a mission to do what?

Oh yeah, they had to pay off that HUGE debt they still owed "The Penguin Nun" - a.k.a >> Sister Mary Stigmata!

And dag-nabit!

She was going to collect that fee, even if it costs Jake and Elwood's lives!

Although, those who seen "The Blues Brothers," already know the movie was filled with tons of laughs and endless Joliet Jake & Elwood Blues hijinks along the entire way!

"She Caught the Katy," was an interesting piece (kinda heavy on the "Rhythm & Blues" genre; so the VU meter will have its work cut out for it!

"YES"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Honestly, I don't much at all about the "YES" psychedelic band, but I do know they had some pretty interesting tracks...

"Starship Trooper" (and this isn't the movie) is a mixed bag of question marks is the best way I can describe it, because the music is just all over the place!

And yet... It's quite damn interesting!

Looks like the VU meter won't be getting much rest time when tackling this fiery soundtrack!

"Gnarls Barkley"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Starship Trooper was mind-blogging indeed, but then comes the song "Run," by the hip-hop group Gnarls Barkley.

And this is a 1000% pure adrenaline soundtrack that blasts you off into oblivion from the very start!

That's right, RUN fits the title to a "T,"  because the song hits the ground running so fast, that it would even force the superhero "Flash" to take a quick half-turnaround to see the wild vibrations of this song is quickly revving up to his heels at any second now! LOL.

In all honesty, it's just a "Pick You Up" type of song if you're lacking steam (or feeling fatigued), and you're in need of a big jolt of "Wholesome Untamed Wildness!

"Look, just make sure you don't get too hyped up on this one, and you wind up getting yourself in trouble due to all of that pumped up acquired adrenline!"

So, remain of your best behavior, ok? Haha.

"Stories"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
You see, there's a common mix up with the lead singer within the group called "Stories," where Ian Lloyd was always mistakened to be Rod Stewart.

Stewart, is a British singer known for his number of popular soundtracks.

With that said, the singer here is in fact Ian Lloyd, and "Brother Louie" was a very controversial song of the 1970s era.

The soundtrack itself is filled with groove-soul based tone mixed with low-toned psychedelic beat fluctuations.

Yeah, now that's prefect for the VU meter to digest!

"Laid Back"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
I don't know, this soundtrack carries a deepened low-tone at times (in terms of the music's weight).

"White Horse" involkes a heavy-boom medium to low-base musical style: a back and forth flow throughout the song persists, and it's great for the long haul, meaning if you're out cruising around and you're mind is locked in an easy-going and very relaxed state, this is the track for you!

It should be quite interesting to see how the VU meter handles "Laid Back's" popular 1980s cult-classic song!

"Nightbird Flying"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
I mean come on...

We're talking Jimmy Hendrix here folks!

And boy oh boy, he went through quite a number of trails and tribulations to become a legendary jazz and pop culture phenonium of his day.

And he was also one of the most influential music artists to perform at the most controversial event of 1969 in Bethel, New York: that's right infamous Woodstock venue.

This will be honorary watching how the VU meter weighs the scale of this iconic artist's blazzing guitar style soundtrack that will be a sight to see!

"Wu-Tang Clan: 36 Chambers"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
He was the one that introduced a series collabrating musical elements and usage of 1990s hip-hop to about the elusive soundtrack called "Baby C'mon."

The spill behind this particular track, was the performer's capability to "free-flow" at the drop of a dime.

Ol' Dirty Bastard would ofter call out "Wannabe" rappers, who he felt couldn't cut the mustard trying to hold their own as authentic artists performing on the public stage.

I like this, and one other song, Bastard did.

In retrospect, it's only the first part of this song is what I liked, which is due to the alternating "Hi" and "Low" audible elements that drives the music forward...

So, I'm wondering how the VU meter will measure the instrumental sounds laced within this soundtrack.

"Rogue Trip 2012 (The Maul)"

   style="overflow: hidden;>
Why this particular soundtrack is what most people are bound to say.

                            The short answer?

 It's an interesting track, and it fits the picture perfect persona of one Big Daddy.

Who's a greedy no good hooligan, hellbent on amassing wealth, and intimidating others to bend to his will in his bid for total conquest!

As for his track cut "Big Daddy,"  holds much likeness of Urban Warfare, and the constant consiladtion of power.

Well now that sounds quite - "Al Capone-like!"

Except Big Daddy has the slightest interest in a big city like Chicago, no he's aiming for world domination!

There's just one small obstacle...

He MUST sabotage "would-be" challengers who seek to win his deadly race competation where Big Daddy's billion-dollar empire is on the line!
